Introduction

Hello, my name is Matthew. I’m currently a sophomore at high school. I enjoy doing anything as long as I have something to do. My favorite sport is baseball and my favorite hobby would be eating. My family tells me all the time that I should be a competitive food eater when I grow up. I’m in English class writing this blog. We are working on three important teachers in our life that have taught us valuable lessons. A book that I just recently read was are Tuesdays with Morrie, which teaches people on life and teaches you lessons on life that you would of never seen without the great wisdom from this book. The book is about a man named Mitch, who is the writer of the book, which goes on Tuesdays to see his old professor, Morrie, who is dying. Throughout the book Morrie teaches Mitch lessons on life and the way people should really live them and no the way culture is teaching everyone to live it.

Nothing like getting a friendly hello. My friend here wants everysone to have a friendly welcome!

Mrs. Lane

The first of the people to inspire me in life is my wonderful English 2 teacher whom is the person having me write this blog, Ms. Lane. Besides being a teacher she is someone who takes time for all of her students in class. As being one of her students she has taught me the meaning on right and wrong.
During class one day I learned that what you can say could count as right and wrong. Every Friday in class we have to have a current event. Since it’s on block schedule it’s every other Friday. We were sharing current events and I said something that I shouldn’t of said. Unlike most teachers, who would of gotten me in trouble about it, she gave me a chance. I learned sometimes people have to think about what they say whether they may think it was right, when in truth it was wrong. I was lucky enough to not get in trouble, but the next time something like that happens I may not be as lucky. Getting is trouble would not of only gotten me in trouble, but it could of ruined a lot of plans for me in school. Getting written up in school does not look very good on school profiles. Now I can make sure to never repeat what I had done again.

This is one right more wrong that will never change for some people.

Randy

Just like most people one of my parents affect my life, my dad is probably the most inspirational person and greatest teacher in my life. Over and over he watches over me to make sure that I do not mess up. Whether it’s keeping good grades in school or trying to do something in my free time. The funny thing is unlike most teachers in life, he did not teach me by talking to me or we work at it together. I learned by watching my dad, day after day, work from the moment he wakes up till he goes to sleep
My dad is not like most people I have met in my life. He is the hardest workingman I have ever seen! He has his job, which is being a cop, works off duty jobs every single weekend, runs his own company, and much more. On weekends, mostly Saturdays, he will work from seven in the morning untill one in the morning the next day. I am not even joking when I say that! He does this all the time, just so he can have the money to go have fun whenever he wants. That just goes to show how much hard work people will put into things, so they can have a good time having fun.

Randy wishes he could do this. He cannot, but this is describes how every one wishes to be.

Dario

No matter who you are, throughout life you will go through friends like a child goes through toys. The thing is that there is that one toy that never gets old no matter how many times you play with it. The same goes with your friends or should I say your best friend. I have had many so-called best friends in my life, some that I’ve known for a couple months, others for almost my entire life; but of all those people I have one friend that I’ve known almost my entire life and he has never left my side, His name is Dario, and we’ve been friends since first grade.
Since the first grade and uptil all the way to eighth grade, we have been together having a great time and becoming even better friends then we thought we would ever be. No matter how hard the times either of us . Now for high school I moved far away frohave been through, we stuck by each other's side. Now, for high school, I moved far away from my best friend, but that did not change anything. We will talk the same and play games online together, just like we would if I was still living by him. Most people would have slowly drifted apart from each other like most of my other friends did, but I do not ever see that happening. That is how my best friend, Dario, showed me what a true friend is like.

Good People Don't Always Win

During eighth grade year, one of my close friends really liked this girl. He was one of my very close friends and so was the girl. The guy tried to do everything in the world to get her to notice him. He would buy her gifts and do anything romantic that he could think of. He was a nice guy too; I even tried talking to her into giving him a chance. Turned out everything he had gave her, she got rid of it right after and would make fun of what he said to her to her other friends.
Eventually he gave up after a couple months of trying. Even to this day he does not know the bad things that she had done after all the hard work he had put in for her. It’s amazing how someone can do something so nice for someone and get treated so badly. I believe he deserved a chance and I bet everyone would agree if they saw how hard he tried, but it’s not always the perfect fairytales that you see in Disney movies. To me, it shows that sometimes the good person, even with all the hard work you put into it, you will not always get what you want.

Even in Mario the good guys in the background don't even win. He works all day long to make those bricks to have Mario break them all.

Learn From Your Mistakes

School was not always an easy thing for me. When I was growing up, I believed that school was a waste of time and there was no point in going. I would miss at least 20 days a year and would have enough good grades to pass, but still very poor. I would just sleep in school when I was there until teachers yelled me at. Starting high school, I changed all that I decided I needed to do better if I want a good life when I grow up. Now everything I used to do has changed. I have not missed a day of school since eighth grade and have great grades.
This is a lesson that most people do not realize until it is way too late. I realized, by mid-eighth grade year, that school is a lot more important than I thought. That’s when I started improving, but it was already kind of too late in the year. That’s why high school is when I decided to change. I learned that if I kept up, the way I was acting in school, I would have a bad future. The main thing I learned is school is a lot more serious then what most people think. Whatever people do in school chnages their whole life and can make or break someone.

Just like with school work and coming to school. Their are the two roads, one that can lead to great things and the other that can lead to a horrible life.

Choose Your Battles Carefully

Throughout life, when one has friends some times they have fights. Of course I’m not an exception to this. I’ve had tons of fights with friends before. One of them was one, that I look back on now and see how dumb it was to fight about. My friend and I were in sixth grade together and we both liked this girl. We both went on and on to try and impress her. After a little bit of trying to get her to like one of us, she dated my other friend. That of course caused us to stop talking and pretty much hate each other.
Now that I look back on it, I feel so stupid that I gave up a friend, just like that. I could have easily just said congratulations and we both moved on. No, that did not happen, I ended up losing a good friend of mine that day. Even now, I have not talked to him since our fight after he got with the girl. I learned, that day, that if your going to choose to fight on something with someone, it better be worth it, because it will come at a great cost.

Battles are just like this olive and pickle. Whether one wins or loses, their is still nothing better for everyone at the end.
